The facts on outsourcing

Get this: The party that is preparing to nominate a "pioneer" of American outsourcing to be its presidential nominee is now trying to outsource their problems to us. Republicans are hard at work distorting President Obama's record of fighting for American jobs.

Here's the truth: President Obama has always fought for insourcing and leveling the playing field for American workers. His jobs plan would close corporate loopholes, end tax breaks for companies that ship American jobs overseas, and reward companies that create more jobs at home. By creating the Advanced Energy Manufacturing Credit and extending the Production Tax Credit, President Obama is encouraging companies to create jobs here at home. And the President has doubled the rate of trade cases we've brought against China to make sure American workers can compete on a level playing field.

Now contrast that with the Romney record: As CEO and owner of Bain Capital, Romney personally profited from investing in companies that shipped American jobs to China and India. As governor, Romney vetoed legislation that would have prevented Massachusetts jobs from being outsourced. And as a candidate, he supports a tax policy that would encourage companies to send our jobs overseas.

There's only one outsourcer-in-chief, and it's Mitt Romney.

For more than 200 years, Democrats have fought for the interests of working families and equal opportunities for all Americans. We believe in an America where we don’t just look out for ourselves. We’re proud of our individualism, but we also know that we rise and fall as one nation. Throughout history, Democrats have worked from the ground up to bring about the change that matters.
